Just curious.... Can't help but feel like Nintendo is about to flop on this one.... I don't know if it's because what they've shown doesn't look all that appealing or if things like the bike look like meh addition to the formula, or whether Nintendo is just unrolling things slowly.... (Kirby Air Riders got a 45 minute demo event for christ sake.) It just feels to me like Nintendo isn't going out of their way to gas us up over the new Metroid game. Like they know it's just ok and it's not a "prime" focus for their advertising.... What do you think?

Am I overreacting to a game we haven't seen enough of, or with an early December launch around the corner are just not in a window where Nintendo is wanting to push advertising yet? Or... Is it that when you get the vibe something is off.... Something tends to be off....?

Curious if you're feeling good about where we are with Prime 4 Beyond, or whether we're about to see a flopping end to Samus?

Didn't watch trailer because all Metroid Prime games are in wrong perspective (first instead of third) and the suit looks way too stupid in 3D, but heard it's open world now, and can't expect anything but after Breath of the Wild and Elden Ring put the nails in the coffin. Won't be surprised if next Mario is a big open world too, for the worse.

I'm a bit worried just because Retro hasn't made a game in a long while. They still got it? Hope so.

As for your other concerns, not really. Marketing for Metroid games has consistently sucked as far back as I can remember. It has more western appeal than it does in Nintendo's homeland, so they never quite know how to sell it. That said, we have seen more of Prime 4 than Age of Imprisonment, and that will come out sooner.

Plus, it's getting three amiibo. They must have some faith in it.

Air Riders got so much attention because Sakurai gets whatever he wants.

I personally think Nintendo is creativly bankrupt at this point and more focused on patents to stifle competition than pushing new ideas.

But that's neither here nor there. I know Metroid has it's fanbase, but it's simply not the selling powerhouse people think it is, and Nintendo knows that. Dread was the best selling game in the franchise, and it's ranked #46 on Nintendo's charts at a little over 3 million sold.

I don't think Nintendo's pushing it much because historically it's easier to throw out another mario kart and sell 20 million + than it is to cater to a smaller fan base.

Didn't watch the recent vid but the fact that it's open world is a huge red flag for me.

Also gotta see how it runs on the Switch since I don't know if/when I'll be getting a Switch 2.

There will be presentations and additional trailers between now and December. We received an actual launch date. That alone is huge progress. Oddly enough just yesterday I was curious if it will still have the haunting soundtrack that has become a foundation for the franchise.

The game is out in December. I'm sure it'll feature heavily in a Direct closer to the release date, but Nintendo has a bunch of other big games to hype up before then.

I’ve never been big on the series other than that DS game they released. This game has been meh to me from the beginning. That open world chunk they just showed on the last direct turned me off completely.

Confused why Nintendo didn't release Metroid Prime 2 Remastered/Metroid Prime 3 Corruption Remastered.

I’m not too worried myself. I think that it will be a solid enough game. Expecting an 8/10 at least.

I'm not worried... I think it'll be more Metroid Prime, nothing more nothing less. Which I'm down for.

I'm not really worried as much as I'm tired of Nintendo pulling the same cheap shots over and over again, like a bad fighting game. The portable gimmick is pretty much bust at this point, that leaves Nintendo with their software, that is, this-kind-of-feels-like-something-I've-played-before feeling.

I'm put off by the Switch 2's high price point combined with the fact it doesn't offer a whole lot of utility over the OG Switch.

I don't think general consensus will rule it a flop, but as it stands, I don't have a Switch 2, and this won't sell me one.
