I love making lists — movies, anime, books, manga, and games are no exception.

I always find it fun to check out other people’s lists — there are always surprising takes worth discussing. For example, I don’t like Elden Ring because it was so successful that FromSoftware probably won’t return to Sekiro or anything similar.

This year has been my catch-up time playing a lot of 3D Slashers, both games never played and games long to revisit.

So I'm going to rate those games in 2025 as I deem them-

• Bayonetta: 8/10
• Devil May Cry 4 Special Edition: 8.5/10
• Devil May Cry 5: 9/10
• Lollipop Chainsaw: 7/10
• Blades of Time: 4.5/10
• Assault Spy: 8/10
• OneeChanbara Z2: 6.5/10
• Darksiders: 5/10
• Darksiders 2: 5.5/10
• Stellar Blade: 8.5/10
• Ninja Gaiden 2 Black: 9/10
• Soulstice: 7/10

@RSM-HQ: No 10/10?

Only rarely would I give a game 10/10.

For me a 5/10 is exactly average, not bad but not that good either. Don't review games in the same manner as Game Spot or IGN who think 7/10 is average. Numbers actually matter when I review. If a game is a 6/10 it's slightly above average; 7/10 is very good; 8/10 is amazing.. etc.

Devil May Cry 3 and Ninja Gaiden Black/ Sigma though I adore these games as some of my favorite ever are even still 9.5/10's. As they have glaring flaws that cannot be overlooked and very noticeable to anyone playing. Almost perfection, exceedingly fun, yet let down due to a few bad decisions/ oversights. For me it's looking at games objectively, no matter my personal bias.
