Thoughts? Does this cheapen the majesty of the White House to have a UFC event on its lawn? I have to admit, I'm not pro-Trump, but I would actually watch that clown show, on YouTube for free.

Considering how many dirtballs had dinners in their names throughout the years, how many less than desirable people visited the White House, etc...., this shouldn't bother anyone but it will.

My initial reaction was "oh dear god no" but when you look at the history of the Whitehouse, well...it doesn't matter lol:

  • Basically constant alcoholics occupying seats of power during all the historic times; WWII, Cold War, etc.
  • Clinton got a BJ in the Oval Office
  • Trump dug up the Rose Garden.
  • Dictators and mass murderers have been hosted there.
  • And worse.

So ya, I mean it sure lacks the decorum of a political institution, but when you get down to it, a UFC fight wouldn't be so bad.

My main objection is that it completely throws decorum out the window. That might seem sort of stuffy and old-guard to say, but it serves a purpose.

Yes, some terrible people have been hosted at the Whitehouse, but to serve a purpose. Diplomatic deals, a cessation to hostilities between warring parties, and so on.

A UFC fight? What's that going to do? Increase a president's ratings, approval?

It's also a drastic lowering of the bar. Sorry not sorry but UFC fighters aren't exactly folks we should look up to, and hosting bloodsport in the political center of the most powerful nation in history is pretty big lowering of standards.

Ultimately, not that offensive to me, but I would worry about the perception of it all to other powers. The US is losing a lot of soft power, influence, and respect in the world right now and this would be yet another reason to laugh, scoff, and otherwise disregard the US.

Which I know is likely the point, because contrarian jackasses feed off that sentiment.

Move it to capitol hill. That might better suit it.

It's cool, just like a roman coliseum which goes well with the pedophilia, which I assume is an homage to ancient Greece.

I dunno, the government shouldn't really promote any business or franchise
