The Atari 2600+ Pac-Man Edition Console is up for preorder for $170 at Amazon. The eye-catching, bright yellow retro system was unveiled in July as part of Bandai Namco's year-long celebration of Pac-Man's 45th anniversary. The console comes with a matching CX40+ Wireless Joystick and the new Atari 7800 game Pac-Man: Double Feature on cartridge. The Pac-Man Edition Console releases October 31.

As the name suggests, Pac-Man: Double Feature comes with two games on one cartridge. Most notably, you'll get to play Pac-Man 7800, a brand-new arcade version of the classic game. The other game is the first edition of Pac-Man for console, Pac-Man 2600 (1982).

Additional CX40+ Wireless Joysticks themed around Inky, Blinky, Pinky, and Clyde launch alongside the console for $40 each, so the Ghost Gang will come out to play on Halloween, too. If you'd rather have matching controllers, the Pac-Man Edition CX40+ is also sold separately for the same price. These controllers work wirelessly on PC, too.

Along with Pac-Man: Double Feature, Atari and Bandai Namco partnered to create new 7800 cartridge editions of three other games: Galaga, Dig Dug, and Xevious. The trio of Namco classics were launch titles for the 7800 nearly 40 years ago, so it's pretty cool they are launch titles for the Pac-Man Edition Console. Unlike Pac-Man: Double Feature, these are simply new editions, so they will play just like the 1986 originals.

Take a closer look at the upcoming Pac-Man Edition Console, accessories, games below.

Bandai Namco has been going all out for Pac-Man's 45th anniversary: Special Edition Wireless Controllers for Xbox and Nintendo Switch, a series of Banpresto plushies, an official cookbook, the recently released metroidvania Shadow Labyrinth, the upcoming Pac-Man World 2 Re-Pac--2025 has been a pretty wild year for Pac-Man. We can only imagine what Bandai Namco will cook up for the arcade mascot's 50th anniversary. Bring Pac-Man to life for real? Too late, Pac-Man already lived and died in the 2015 movie Pixels. If he comes back to life, it'll probably mean you're watching Pixels 2.
