Are you ready to look for all Spool Fragments in Hollow Knight: Silksong? These are unique materials found in specific locations in Pharloom. In fact, obtaining more of them automatically upgrades your silk energy, which is akin to your mana or the resource used to cast abilities frequently.

Where to find all Spool Fragments in Hollow Knight: Silksong - Silk upgrade guide

There are over a dozen Spool Fragments in the game. For every two that you obtain, you increase Hornet's maximum silk energy by an additional pip. Upon maxing out this resource, you should be able to use skills and tools more often in battle.

Note 2: Several abilities help you with traversal and exploration. These include the Drifter's Cloak (Float/Glide), Clawline (Grappling Hook), and Faydown Cloak (Double Jump).

This might be one of the first Hollow Knight: Silksong Spool Fragments that you discover while exploring. From the Mosshome elevator above Bone Bottom, make a right and go up the next room. There's a small nook with spike traps but, at the left-hand corner, you'll be able to destroy a weakened wall. You'll find your prize just beyond.

The map above shows the locations of two Spool Fragments in the Deep Docks region.

You can obtain this one fairly early in the campaign. Upon arriving at Deep Docks, tag the bench in the center--i.e. the one near the vendor. Then, go down the shaft and enter the chamber with lava flows. You have to jump on the ledges and cross the gap, all while staying clear of the searing hot lava.

You can only acquire this Spool Fragment in Hollow Knight: Silksong once you have the following:

• At least one Simple Key.
• Clawline Grappling Hook
• The Faydown Cloak Double Jump also helps.

In any case, you can refer to our Simple Key locations/unlocks guide. Your goal is to make it to the third large room in this particular section of Deep Docks. From there, you have to do a platforming challenge where you blow up walls, glide past spikes, and latch onto surfaces.

This one is in the topmost open-area section at the right-hand side of Greymoor. As usual, you need to pogo, air dash, and grapple your way across gaps.

This requires you to complete The Threadspun Town, a main quest where you have to break the curse that has befallen the citizens of Bellhart. Once you're done with that, check the bounty board and pick up Wayfarer: My Missing Courier. Finish this side quest and talk to the vendor to purchase the item.

Breaking the curse in the settlement of Bellhart also needs you the Needolin ability, which allows you to strum your weapon akin to a violin. Once you're able to do this, go to the ornate door in Moss Grotto to unlock the Weavenest Atla secret sub-zone. Use the teleporter to reach the bottommost floor. Then, double jump to the middle section and make a left. The Spool Fragment is floating above a pool just past a couple of large enemies.

We've talked a bit about The Slab in our Faydown Cloak/Double Jump guide. Basically, if you get captured by a jailer-type enemy, you'll find yourself in this prison level. Progress normally until you reacquire Hornet's gear and the Heretic Key. Then, check one of the outer portions along the left-hand side to find this item. Don't dawdle for too long because Hornet can also freeze to death.

You can get this Hollow Knight: Silksong Spool Fragment once you have the Faydown Cloak/Double Jump ability. Make a left from the corridor that has the bench and fast travel point. Next, climb up the walls and enter the room with the sign. Your old pal, Grindle, will scurry away. But if you double jump to the top, you should be able to chat with him. You can buy the Spool Fragment for 680x Rosaries.

You'll receive the material as a reward for finding 15 Lost Fleas. This causes the Flea Caravan to move from Greymoor to Blasted Steps at the entrance to the Citadel. You can refer to our Lost Fleas guide if you need more help.

Grand Gate has several platforms that tend to move upward and downward. The goal is to jump on these, while utilizing other maneuvers such as grapples and air dashes, until you make it to the top of the tower.

You gain access to the High Halls sub-zone by checking the top-left portion of the Citadel. In the main/left tower, you must use your grapple to cling onto the ring as it moves in a circular motion. Enemies will also pester you, so watch out for them.

Jubilana is a vendor NPC who's also tied to other collectible/upgrade-related tasks, such as Mask Shards and Simple Keys. A bit later in the campaign, the Songclave bounty board should have a side quest called The Lost Merchant. Aid Jubilana once more and, upon returning to Songclave, she'll let you purchase a Spool Fragment.

You can grab this Hollow Knight: Silksong Spool Fragment while exploring Cogwork Core, which is the central sub-zone that splits the western and eastern sides of Choral Chambers.

Take the lower-right exit, which leads to a battle against a Cogwork Clapper elite. Take it out, then keep hitting the gear to open the gate. Finally, pass through the vents with heated gas until you see your reward.

You should definitely visit Whiteward if you plan on obtaining the Clawline Grappling Hook. This sub-zone in the Citadel also has a couple of Spool Fragments.

This Spool Fragment in Hollow Knight: Silksong is at the very bottom of the elevator shaft in Whiteward. The idea is to ride the elevator all the way down. Then, go through the corridors until you're back at the main shaft.

From there, wall climb/wall jump to the top. Step on the plate once more and, as the elevator is rising, jump back down to the middle section.

To get this Spool Fragment, you need to undertake a side quest called Balm for the Wounded. It comes from the bounty board in Songclave--i.e. where you meet the Caretaker and Jubilana.

Make your way to the large chamber in Whiteward just before the shaft that leads to the Underworks. There, you'll find a door that you can enter. Talk to Sherma and defeat the enemies to receive this reward.

You can find a couple of Spool Fragments in the Underworks, a massive sub-zone in the Citadel.

This item is in one of the gauntlet rooms to the left of the tube elevator that lets you fast travel around the Citadel. Defeat waves of enemies and claim your prize.

This material can be found at the bottom of the pit in the Underworks' spike platform area--i.e. the section between the paths to Whiteward and Grand Bellway/The Stage. Leap down the pit and destroy the wooden obstacles in the lower-left corner of the room.

The Memorium is a smaller sub-zone in the Citadel. While exploring, check out one of the corridors at the left-hand side of the top section--i.e. near the Citadel Ventrica lift. Past the Crustcrag enemy, there's a large room where you have to clamber and glide to avoid the wall spikes. The Spool Fragment is on a dais at the halfway point. If you continue further down, the path will lead you back to the entrance and the bench.
