Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2 releases in just two weeks for Nintendo Switch and Switch 2. Revealed during September's Nintendo Direct, the enhanced editions of the beloved Wii games will be available in physical and digital formats as a bundle for $70 on October 2. Each game will be sold separately on the eShop for $40, so you're saving 10 bucks by opting for the collection. Preorders for the physical edition of Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2 are available at Amazon, Walmart, Target, Best Buy, and GameStop.

Mario Galaxy fans can also preorder the upcoming physical edition of Rosalina's Storybook at Walmart and Barnes & Noble. Preorders for the hardcover book, which releases November 25, are currently sold out at Amazon.

Nintendo also unveiled two Super Mario Galaxy Amiibo figures, though these won't be available until April 2026, the same month The Super Mario Galaxy Movie premieres. Both Amiibo are priced at $40 and proving to be extremely popular. The Mario and Luma Amiibo is in stock at Target and Best Buy, but it's sold out at Amazon and Walmart. It's the same situation with Rosalina and Lumas Amiibo: in stock at Target and Best Buy, sold out at Amazon and Walmart.

Fans can get a Rosalina Amiibo the same day the collection launches thanks to a new reprint of the original Rosalina & Luma Amiibo from the Super Smash Bros. series. You can preorder the Smash Bros. Rosalina & Luma Amiibo for $20 at Target.

The first Galaxy game was previously featured in the Super Mario 3D All-Stars Collection, which has been out of print for years and is no longer sold on the eShop. This is the first time Super Mario Galaxy 2 will be playable on Nintendo's modern hardware.

In addition to being part of Super Mario's 40th Anniversary celebrations, the collection helps these games reach new players before The Super Mario Galaxy Movie premieres in theaters next April. As mentioned, Nintendo is also releasing two Amiibo figures featuring Mario and Rosalina (and Lumas, of course). The Amiibo won't be available when the collection launches; instead, Nintendo is saving the new figures for April 2, 2026.
