For anyone still in denial about the Kimmel thing:

• Today, Trump suggested that TV networks who cover him 'negatively' should lose their licences
• And the FCC Chair basically said that the FCC pressured local networks to get Kimmel cancelled, on the basis that it felt Kimmel's comments were not in the public interest. He said there will continue to be a massive shift in the media ecosystem, there'll be more consequences, and America will be better off.

It sure sounds like the party of "free speech is absolute" and "**** your feelings" is now the party of "you can only print good things about us or you will lose your job".

If you still think this is a normal development in a functional democracy, I've got this awesome bridge to sell you, right next to an opera house.

Everything these folks has cried about they are guilty of. EVERYTHING. Take all of their complaints as confessions.

Actually wound up arguing with my dad earlier today since he was laughing at Jimmy Kimmel getting cancelled since I tried to explain to him that this wouldn’t stop at folks we disagree with politically, even pointing out that he used to tell me when I was younger that we had to stand up for other people’s right to free speech even if it upset us since only dictators would be stripping that right away from people, and he just stomped out and left without another word. Donnie and his advocates really have done a number on our country at this point, sadly.
